I know that Ham For Dinner is SO Christmas Eve or Easter, but I bought TWO hams when they were on sale at Fred Meyer and this one has been in my fridge taking up an entire section of real estate, so it is time to go for round 2.
This ham is the best thing to ever grace our dinner table, even if it is the second time this month.
By far the most moist (say that ten times fast!) ham you will ever eat, and it is nearly effortless to put together. So effortless I can get it in the crock pot before 9AM church and still get there on time....or at least before the opening prayer.

yield: 10-12 servings
SLOW COOKER MAPLE BROWN SUGAR HAM
PREP TIME: 5 MINS
COOK TIME: 4-5 HOURS
- 7-8 pound spiral-cut ham (bone-in or boneless)
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- Use a 6-7 quart slow cooker. Unwrap the ham and discard flavor packet. Place the ham into the slow cooker stoneware, flat-side down. Rub brown sugar on all sides. Pour on maple syrup and pineapple juice.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours. An hour before serving, baste ham with the collected juices from the bottom of the slow cooker. When cooking is done, remove carefully and let it rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes before carving.
If you think your slow cooker may cook on the hot side, reduce the cooking time as needed.
