It’s the end of the month, your wallet is empty, but your social calendar is full of spendy hangout plans. What’s a teen to do?

Before you auction off a sibling, take a look at this list of ways you can make some quick cash in time for your next mall trip.

By the end of the week, you’ll have $100 in your pocket and smile on your face.

Sell your stuff - The best way to make room for more stuff is to get rid of items you no longer want or need. So you might as well cash in on those gently used jeans you never really liked. Take brand name clothes in good condition to Plato’s Closet, or sell them online at Poshmark. Sports gear can be sold to Play it Again Sports, and other items can be listed on eBay.
Sitting - Nope, you can’t get paid to sit and do nothing. But you can make some good money doing other types of sitting - babysitting, pet sitting, house sitting. For babysitting or pet sitting, generate new business by sending out an email to local friends and family with your availability and (low) rates. If you know someone going on a trip, offer to watch over their home, getting mail and watering plants.
Tutor / Teach - It’s time to monetize those talents and hobbies! If you play an instrument, teach music lessons to beginners and young kids. If you’re a math whiz or grammar nerd, tutor someone who’s struggling in the same subject. Excel at a sport? Make a day camp and charge by the hour. Spread the word with an email, on Instagram stories, or through a friend’s mom. You can get legit organized and create a Google doc where students can sign up for available slots. You might even get better at what you already love.
Go online - There are countless websites that will pay you to do everything from browsing the web to taking surveys. The pay can be mere pennies, but it adds up over time. But beware that most online business opportunities are scams. Do your research and stick with companies with reputable reviews from trustworthy sources.
Keep it clean - Remember when you used to ask your mom if you could clean the house to earn money? Well, that still works. Most parents are happy to hand off cleaning and organizing chores in exchange for some spare cash — as long as your work is thorough and complete. Extended family and neighbors are often happy to hire you out as helpers, as well. Just ask!
Say ruff - If you like dogs and like getting outside, dog walking is for you. Lots of people don’t have time to walk their dogs, but will pay for you to take them out every day. You can even walk multiple dogs at a time! Make a flyer to advertise your services or sign up on Rover, which connects you with locals looking for dog walkers.
Collect cans - This one is easy. Just grab a trash bag and fill it with empty soda cans and water bottles. When the bag is full, take it to a BottleDrop machine or a recycling center. There are rules regarding what can be recycled and daily limits on how many containers you can cash in, but you should receive ten cents for every empty container.
Wash and go - Grab some friends and turn your driveway into a car wash. Offer outside washes for cheap or charge more for interior detailing. Even better, come to your clients’ homes for a small service fee.
Designer for hire - If you’ve got an artistic eye, you can turn your creative designs into T-shirts and other gear. Websites like Cafepress or Redbubble allow you to upload your design for free to their collection. Customers then select a design to be printed on anything from stickers to shower curtains. The websites handle all the orders, shipping and returns, but will pay you a small commission from the sale.
Apply yourself - Odd jobs are great, and can even become full-time gigs, but sometimes you need steady employment. So why not take a week to find and fill out applications to businesses who are hiring? If you get the job, your wallet will stay full from week to week … as long as you don’t spend it all!
